suffix of nouns used colloquially:
1. as an endearment, or affectionately, especially with and among children: "doggy" = dog;
2. as a familiar abbreviation: "brekky" = breakfast; "Chrissy" = Christmas; "footy" = football; "piccy" = picture;
3. form nouns: "lefty" = left-winger; "stubby" = small, squat beer bottle; "stiffy" = erection
